Professional Scrum Foundations in Salt Lake City, Utah

This week I have been filling in for David Starr  at a customer and it has been an experience. David had a family emergency and tapped me of all people to take the gig from him. So not only did Northwest Cadence  have to rearrange my schedule to make sure that I could do this, but I had to brave Salt Lake City and Utah…

You can't stack rank hierarchical work items?

At the MVP Summit I was appalled by the number of people who asked questions about new features for supporting hierarchical tasks! I shared a disgusted look with Peter Provost  and we had a quick (and I mean really quick) conversation that resulted in this post. it really comes down to one thing:

I was asked this question by Robert Myers  for a “paper” and I think that it is an important one. I started to answer in that little textbox that LinkedIn give you and I got a little carried away. I guess I am an writing mode

I messed up my work items from Excel! What now?

I messed up my work items from Excel! What now?

If you are in the unfortunate situation that ended up publishing back changes to 100+ work items that you did not want to change then you can be in a world of hurt. I have a customer who has done just that and I thought some guidance on how to fix (mitigate) this situation will help everyone.

Upgrade to Visual Studio 11 Team Foundation Service - Done

Jason Zander has just announced that the Visual Studio 11 & Visual Studio 11 Team Foundation Server Beta will be available on the 29th February 2012. Its that time again where the Visual Studio and team Foundation Server teams are pushing out their next version of their tools, Visual Studio 11. Steven & Lori Borg  teamed up to present a video on why you would want to Go-Live with Visual Studio 11  . I used the Go-Live with many companies with the Visual Studio 2010 launch with no problems. Its as safe as a “RTM” product from most other teams.
