(PSM) Online Learning Experience with Certification from naked Agility with Martin Hinshelwood

PSM-400x

Exploring agile and Scrum principals

An interactive activity-based course where students gain a strong understanding of Professional Scrum and the role of the Scrum Master.

Course Overview

Our Professional Scrum Master Training Program contains the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) from Scrum.org and additional online learning. Our program adds a structured delivery over half-days, with additional learning materials delivered at the beginning and end of each module and with the addition of practical assignments in the immersion program.

Our PSM and PSM-I include 16-32h of classroom experience, with additional homeworking and sessions, that will cover the principles and (empirical) process theory underpinning the Scrum framework and the role of the Scrum Master in it. This program combines self-study, instruction, and group exercises that teach what is at the heart of the Scrum and Agile movement.

This course can be delivered in various formats to support a better learning experience:

  • As an immersive experience consisting of 7 weekly 4-hour sessions – This format allows students to practice assignments in the intervening weeks and bring actionable and specific questions from their experiences to the debrief as part of the following session.
  • As a flipped learning experience consisting of 4 consecutive 4-hour sessions – These sessions are delivered consecutively within the same week and include additional self-paced reading and exercises.
  • As the traditional two full-day class.

The program also includes a complementary attempt at the globally recognized Professional Scrum Master I certification exam (PSM I).

Learning Experience Options

Our primary method of increasing Professional Scrum and the Scrum Masters accountability knowledge is a deliberate developmental experience divided into learning blocks, each with four hours of live virtual classroom training with a qualified trainer-practitioner complemented with presentations and lectures in the form of videos, reading material, and writing activities provided for self-study. Live sessions are delivered online using Microsoft Teams and Mural, with Mighty Networks provides the self-study portal.

Every participant on every option receives:

  • Two attempts at the industry-recognised Scrum.org Assessments.
  • A 30m learning review, generally delivered between assessment attempts.
  • A 60m one-on-one coaching session

At a minimum, we deliver the Professional Scrum Master over 4 ½ days (16hours). We can provide this over four intensive consecutive days or four non-consecutive days over two weeks.

Syllabus

  • Session 1: Theory and First Principals
  • Session 2: The Scrum Framework & Done
  • Session 3: Product Delivery with Scrum
  • Session 4: People, Teams, and the Scrum Master

To better connect the participants to the material on the PSM, we deliver the course as an immersive 8-week interactive activity-based course over eight sessions of 4 hours. At the end of each session, participants are given assignments to practice and experience their day-to-day roles. With the instructor-practitioner, participants debrief assignments at the beginning of the group’s next session.

The course includes advanced thinking for servant-leadership and behavioural shifts. Throughout the course, students are challenged to think in terms of the Scrum principles to better understand what to do when returning to the workplace. This course is made up of discussions and hands-on exercises based upon real-life cases.
