Professional Scrum with Kanban™ (PSK) training experience uses a unique blend of self-paced learning, live classroom hands-on activity-based exercises, and community-based aftercare. It helps experienced Scrum practitioners implement a Kanban strategy within the context of Scrum to help actively improve the effectiveness of their team.The course goes beyond the topics explored in the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) & Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) classes and deepens participants’ understanding by introducing lean practices.Students should already have at least one year of product development experience and practical knowledge of Scrum to participate in and benefit from these exercises. Having previously taken the APS, PSM, or PSPO class is recommended but not required.

  • Session 1: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿Session 2: 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲Session 3: 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀Session 4: 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, & 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀

Each session includes STARTUP activities before and WRAPUP activities to be completed after each session. Before, during, and after the class, students can interact with other students and thought leaders in our Lean-Agile Community.The course also includes a free attempt at the globally recognised Professional Scrum with Kanban I (PSK I) certification exam.

Learning Experience Options

Our primary method of increasing kanban knowledge is a deliberate developmental experience divided into learning blocks, each with four hours of live virtual classroom training with a qualified trainer-practitioner complemented with presentations and lectures in the form of videos, reading material, and writing activities provided for self-study. Live sessions are delivered online using Microsoft Teams and Mural, with Mighty Networks provides the self-study portal.

Every participant on every option receives:

  • Two attempts at the industry-recognised Scrum.org Assessments.
  • A 30m learning review, generally delivered between assessment attempts.
  • A 60m one-on-one coaching session

At a minimum, we deliver all of our training in four hour sessions or block of live practitioner-instructor lead experiances, complimented by offline self-paced content. Depending on the training course We can deliver as:

  • Traditional Learning Experience - four intensive consecutive days or four non-consecutive days over two weeks
  • Flipped Learning Experiance - a flipped learning experiance with live classroom sessions as well as offline self-paced learning.
  • Immersive Learning Experiance - an immersive learning experiance with weekly assignements that are debriefed at the next session.
  • Guided Learning Experiance - an guided journey where a trainer-pratitionar cureates and provides feedback on self-paced learnings.
  • Extended Learning Experiance - Traditional, FLipped, or Immersive compimented by additonal integrated workshops, coaching, and consulting as needed.

Students will learn how their Scrum Teams can introduce complementary practices from Kanban while continuing the way they are already working with Scrum, all without changing Scrum. In this class, students will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of how flow works within the context of Scrum.
  • Be introduced to Kanban practices that Scrum Teams can adopt to help improve their effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Understand how to effectively use the appropriate Kanban practices without changing Scrum.
  • Learn a practical approach to improving transparency and visibility for their work.

The Professional Scrum with Kanban course is an advanced course designed for experienced Scrum Practitioners who have a good understanding of the Scrum framework. It is particularly beneficial for Scrum Masters.

Before you take this course you should have a solid understanding of Professional Scrum.

All participants completing the Professional Scrum with Kanban course will receive a password to attempt the Professional Scrum with Kanban I (PSK I) assessment. The industry-recognized PSK I certification requires a minimum passing score of 85%. PSK class participants who attempt the PSK I assessment within 14 days of receiving their free password and do not score at least 85% will be granted a 2nd attempt at no additional cost.

PMI PDU Credits

Students of Scrum.org courses are able to claim Project Management Institute (PMI) PDU credit: 14 PDUs after attending a two-day Professional Scrum with Kanban (PSK) course. Please note that PMI PDUs are earned for course attendance and not for passing a Scrum.org assessment. Students can claim PDUs under PMI’s “Education courses provided by other third party providers” category.
